from MRJ’s
42nd Biennial Convention in New Orleans
Although I have been
active in my Brotherhood for about 25 years, I attended my first MRJ Biennial
in 2009. It was a great learning experience and, more importantly, a
special opportunity to meet a lot of wonderful guys who share my interests
and concerns. I was able to renew those friendships at the URJ Biennial
later in the year.

This one was
special, mostly because of the work we did at the Kingsley Settlement House.
It was possibly the most exhausting and rewarding experience of my life.
Working alongside the other men, and my wife and their wives for this worthy
organization was an experience not to be missed. The people who work there
are truly remarkable for their spirit and tireless work, adding on to that
how hard our people worked, and just kept on going under some very difficult
conditions, was truly inspirational.
I would love
every convention to include a Mitzvah project.
Robert Himmelstein,
The MRJ New
Orleans Convention was as about educational and friendly as one can get.
Attendees had everything to gain and nothing to lose. (I am a
returning attendee.)

I enjoyed the
New Orleans MRJ meeting very much. It is the second meeting that I attended.
I am looking forward to the next MRJ function.

This was my
first MRJ Convention, and it was terrific, for me and my wife! Many
good memories and good associations with the attendees. Loved the
mitzvah day at the NOLA Civic orphanage and disabled persons center, doing
gardening and filing! Great museum and walking and other cultural
places. HATED the nighttime sleazy Bourbon street atmosphere, but it was
lovely during the day. Enjoyed the Bourbon Wyndham Hotel convention center,
and the restaurants and shops in the area. Fellowship and prayer
meetings throughout the week were wonderful: particularly loved the male only
singing together...great sounds from untrained group of singers!
