IT’S OFFICIAL… MRJ HAS CHANGED ITS NAME TO MEN OF REFORM JUDAISM

On Thursday, May 31, 2007, at the opening plenary of the 41st Biennial Convention of the North American Federation of Temple Brotherhoods (MRJ), the following resolution for delegate approval was submitted:

“With official approval given by our parent body, the Union for Reform Judaism’s Board of Trustees on December 10, 2006 in Atlanta, GA, the National Executive Council of MRJ proposes the national organization’s official name be changed, effective immediately to: “Men of Reform Judaism (MRJ)”.

The resolution was unanimously adopted.

MRJ is a coalition of over 250 affiliated brotherhoods with 25,000 members across North America, dedicated to tikkun olam, 'repairing the world', through the practice of Brotherhood. MRJ members are actively involved in youth education, adult education, social action, and fellowship activities which contribute to the enrichment of their synagogue community.
